Creating with the trust of Hardie Grant and the beautiful illustrations by Camilla Perkins, Frida Style Icon celebrates the remarkable style of a remarkable woman.

It chronicles Frida Kahlo’s inimitable style, examining how her clothing changed during times of personal upheaval and reflected her politics, showing that fashion was an intensely important more of self-expression. From her rebellious adolescence, where she learned the power of portraiture from her photographer father and embrace the tradition of her mother’s Tehuana heritage, through to her fascination with cosmetics, accessories and elaborate hairstyles.

My hope is that this book will give insight into the lasting legacy of Frida’s style choices, both on the wider world of fashion and on legions of Frida devotees.
